Coronovirus (COVID-19) Information for Visitors
In order to comply with the latest guidelines from the Welsh Government there are restrictions on some of the services we are able to offer from Monday 9th November:
Orchid House Tea Room
Our Tea Room is open but all tables must be pre-booked before you visit and all dining sessions will now be in timed slots. You are able to meet people from your own household or up to 3 others while in our Tea Room.
Contact details (including names and telephone numbers) will be required for all adults using the Tea Room for track and trace purposes. All customers will also be required to provide verification of their name when filling in contact details e.g. drivers licence, bank or credit cards etc
Social distancing guidelines should be followed at all times and face masks/coverings are required when entering/exiting our venue and using shared communal corridors/spaces.
We encourage everyone to also scan the QR code for the NHS Covid-19 app on entry to the Tea Room.
Currently all indoor activities are restricted to 15 people (not including children under 11) and outdoor activities are restricted to 30 people (also not including children under 11).
Weddings & Civil Ceremonies
Weddings and Civil Ceremonies are permitted to take place, but attendance numbers are limited in order to enable safe social distancing and must be by invitation only.
Wedding or civil partnership receptions are currently permitted for up to 15 people indoors and 30 people outdoors. There are limits on the type of activity that can take place – for example loud music should not be played, and any food provided should be served at the table rather than at a buffet. The limits on those who can be present do not include children under 11 or staff working at the event.
Guidance from Welsh Government on the wearing of face masks during ceremonies is as follows: Guests will need to wear face coverings, but given the importance to couples of the ceremony and the level of risk involved, we consider it is reasonable for the couple themselves to remove their coverings for a kiss, for taking vows, walking down the aisle and taking photos indoors as well as for a “first dance”, as long as other measures are in place to protect people attending the ceremony from the risk of contracting coronavirus, for example, guests staying 2m away from the couple at all times.
The Registrar’s office at Bedwellty House is currently open as normal - please contact them directly on 01495 353374 or email them at email@example.com
